Q Sports Romania<\/b>is one of the main MozaiQ projects, an LGBT sports club that represents the transposition into reality of the concept of social capital, i.e. the need for citizens to socialize, to create trusting bonds with each other, which then leads to the strengthening of their civic involvement. <\/span> <\/p>\n

Q Sports started in 2017<\/b>, when a group of individuals from the community came to MozaiQ with the idea of a sports group. MozaiQ gave them the know-how and resources to get started, and in 2018 this group was able to win a grant\/funding and organize a head-to-head football tournament. To motivate those who took on the work of organizing the group, MozaiQ identified the possibility of participating in the 2018 Gay Olympics in Paris. <\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout 2017<\/b>, Q Sports organized 7 events, outings to the park, cycling, ping pong, football, basketball or tennis. Q Sports Romania has also become officially affiliated with EGLSF, the European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation, with MozaiQ members also participating in the EGLSF Annual General Assembly. <\/span><\/p>\n

In<\/b>2018 <\/b>the project continued <\/span> its work and became a visible and fully developed project. This year it carried out: The organization, of the first football tournament for LGBT people, “Football for Diversity”, in Bucharest, a major event, promoted in mainstream media (PRO TV news), with more than 40 participating athletes, from Bucharest and Cluj, with financial support from FARE in the month “Football vs Homophobia”; participation in Paris in the Gay Games 2018, the queer Olympics; more than 10 sports events organized throughout the year, football matches, green grass outings, slackline, basketball, running, tennis, along with LGBT-themed film evenings; participation in the general assembly of the European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation, Q Sports being a full member of this federation; collaborations with Macaz, Queens\/Q Club, Thors Hammer, etc. <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2019 <\/b>Q Sports Romania carried out as its main activity the project “Football for Diversity”, funded by FARE Network, which aimed to draw attention to the importance of eliminating homophobia and transphobia from sport. In 2020,<\/b> funded by FARE Network, the project “Football for Diversity” had at its core the organization of the third edition of the national tournament with the same name, which focuses on the fight against homophobia and transphobia in sport. Even before the pandemic began, the tournament brought together dozens of sportsmen and women from several cities, including Austria. <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2021,<\/b>the CSO (Occasional Sports Club) women\u2019s team participates in the international sports competition Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride & EuroGames and wins the gold medal<\/span> in women’s football.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
